Doral from Canada

I thing it’s time to present another motor yacht builder, and we’ll go to our Canadian friends from Doral and check a little the market there . Doral is a company born officially in 1972. In 1989, the company moves to Grand-Mère by joining forces with Thundercraft and Canot Cadorette. They offer a few motor yacht models, grouped in Sport Yachts, Express Cruisers and Elite Series. Let’s see together what all this means, .

They say Doral pays microscopic attention to details. It looks good and modern, that’s obvious, and I’ll have nothing to say until I see some selling prices. Actually, production is very efficiently thought, the boat is produced in separate modules and then assembled in various departments and workshops. Production of seat cushions, cabinets and composite parts start simultaneously with a large number of people working on the same boat at one time.

It seems that the 455 “Alegria” is the biggest model. Checking the prices, later, will tell us if it’s a good investment or not.

At a LOA of 51′ 3″ / 15.62 m, a beam of 13′ 10″ / 4.21m, and an approx. boat & Main Engine weight of 30,000 lbs / 13,636 Kg, the “455 Alegria” is a slim small comfortable motorboat.

405 Mediterra

The 405 Mediterra has a LOA of 45′ 5″ / 13.84 m, a Beam of 13′ 3″ / 4.04 m and an approx. boat & Main Engine weight of 25,000 lbs / 11,363 Kg. I’ve seen one at US$ 269,000.

The Express Cruisers are: 365 Boca Grande, LOA 39’3″ / 11.98 m, Beam 12′ 6″ / 3.81 m (US$ 275,000)

I’m impressed, the prices are from boattrader.com and are compatible with two other yacht trading sites, so I may say that the Canadians are not joking. Excellent range, ladies and gentlemen!
I’m not taking sides, except that I already said in a previous post which one is my favorite yacht at the moment, and sincerely, I can’t wait to talk of that one in another future post. It is happening also because of a changing of structure for this blog, and another design and presentation. It would be a shame to not show what it is to show .
