The Famous Sunseeker

Sunseeker 40 m exterior view

Sunseeker International, is a UK luxury motor yacht manufacturer founded by Robert Braithwaite. Their headquarters and assembly factory is in Poole Harbour, at Poole in Dorset, England. The company has been making motor boats since 1979. I wanted to describe the company with their words, but they are too pompous. Anyway, Sunseeker seems to be the most famous motor yacht brand, to date. It's disputable with Ferretti and Azimut, I know, but their business is better now, than ever. Sunseeker is an expensive luxurious brand, not suited for everybody. I'm sorry I have to say that again. Yachts Sunseeker Yachts provide the ultimate in luxury and long-distance cruising ability. Sunseeker 155 Yacht Sunseeker's new flagship tri-deck 155 Yacht is now in build, and the first is due to launch in 2014. With a 4500 nautical mile range, this is the first ever semi-displacement, round bilge and long keel hull from Sunseeker. The 155 Yacht takes the concept of series building with personal customisation a step further than others, the modular composite build methodology virtually allowing owners a free hand, not just in the interior but also in the design of the actual superstructure. With a top speed of up to 26 knots the 155 Yacht will accommodate up to 12 guests and 10 crew … [Read more...]

Apreamare

Apreamare Maestro 65

Apreamare's history dates back to 1849 when Giovanni Aprea started to hand build rowing and sailing boats used for fishing in Sorrento, basing his craft on the shape and form of the traditional gozzo sorrentino. It was in the years following the Second World War, that the first major change was introduced with automobile motors being fitted to the boats. And so the boatyard started to produce the first gozzi used as pleasure boat, a sector which immediately became the most important, surpassing professional fishing boats. Cataldo Aprea, bursting with new groundbreaking ideas, joined the family boatyard in 1973 with Salvatore Pollio, a constructor who picked up on the great potential and with creativity, decided to go and open the Apreamare boatyard in 1983. They build in Torre Annunziata (Naples), the following models: Apreamare 64 fly, Apreamare 64, Apreamare 48, Apreamare 44, Apreamare 38 open, Apreamare 38 comfort, Apreamare 32 open, Apreamare 32 comfort, Apreamare 28 open, Apreamare 28 midcabin, Apreamare 28 cabin, Smeraldo 45, and Maestro range. I'm extracting my sample pics from their site and from various other brokers, maybe some info will be provided from yachtworld.com. The Apreamare 64 Fly has a LOA: 19.40 m, Beam: 5.60 m, Draft: 1.46 m, a displacement … [Read more...]

Introduction to Ferretti Group

Custom Line 100'

Today, I wanted to start publishing my views on one of the most famous brands in the motor yachts world, Ferretti, who became Ferretti Group, led by Chairman Norberto Ferretti and CEO Giancarlo Galeone. Actually, I have already published about the original Ferretti Yachts, in a former post (from a former blogpost blog, Yacht Buying Savvy) which is now re-edited and much more complex in data and look. They "share a continuous quest towards quality, technological excellence, top performance, an exclusive, innovative design, maximizing comfort and taking painstaking care over detail", as they proudly affirm of themselves on their minutiously designed musical site. Elegant, indeed, Italian as expected. Remember Azimut, isn't it? Another group, other Italians, perfectionists as hell and really good in what they are doing. The Group owns some of the most exclusive brands in the nautical world: Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Riva, Itama, Bertram, Mochi Craft, CRN and Custom Line. I'll present here, all of them, one by one, in different posts. I hope to cover the presentation as soon as possible. Here, you'll have just some boat samples from them all. It is not the first time when I talked about Ferretti, but now everything will be much ample. Ferretti Yachts, the … [Read more...]
