I am sure that the list is not exhaustive. I have already seen one type or sub-type, missing. For sample if one can find regionally specific boats in here, like “Sampan” or “Tjotter”, then “Gulet”, which is Turkish even as spelling, is definitively missing. Some other terms, I have eliminated myself, because they were just for filling. The “merchant banana boat” is actually a cargo ship, nothing special with it, you won’t call a dinghy, a “merchant banana boat” just because it is used to transport a few banana stems from a river bank to the other.
The posts will feature the terms aleatory, not necessary in the same order as they were presented here. These post will be rather short, but informative.
