Why charter a luxury yacht for your Cannes event
Cannes is located 26.9 kilometers from the French Riviera’s main airport, Nice Côté d’Azur Airport, making it easily accessible by car, public transport or helicopter.
This convenient accessibility to a major airport, lovely coastal setting and infrastructure has resulted in one of the world’s top destinations for trade fairs, festivals and congress events.
With that comes seasonal price hikes for hotels, queues for top restaurants and fierce competition for party venues, making a yacht charter a no-brainer to save you time and stress making your Cannes experience a success.
Renting a luxury yacht during a Cannes event is the ultimate behemoth of branding in a town where people don’t look twice at ´who’s who’ on the Croisette. Bespoke Yacht Charter provides a professional yacht charter service for advertising companies, entertainment industry execs, real estate businesses and other international clientele who are innovators and trendsetters that expect the best.
4 tips about how to book your Cannes yacht charter
1. Decide on guest numbers
We can source yachts ranging from 60ft to 300ft in size to allow flexibility for your plans. Our Cannes fleet can provide a venue for business meetings for 15 people, cocktail soirées for 25-30 guests or parties for 60 guests or more – yachts staying in port can host more guests than permitted cruise numbers so it’s not unheard of for 500 party guests to be hosted on the yacht and adjoining quay!
All yachts have professional crew who are skilled at managing guest numbers, especially in Cannes where it’s normal for higher guest list numbers.
2. Consider your budget
Hiring a luxury yacht in Cannes means you have everything arranged in one place to oversee and ensure it runs smoothly. You eliminate logistics to and from venues or sourcing suppliers yourself as Bespoke Yacht Charter takes care of the finer details for you.
We are upfront and transparent about costs, from the yacht charter fee to catering and entertainment and because we’ve been trusted to arrange a large number of charters in Cannes we are readily available to suggest alternatives or recommend things that work well.
3. Decide on the type of yacht
The choice of yachts available for charter during Cannes events is extraordinary. And so are our clients! Whether you want ample room for formal gatherings on board, or to be the coolest kid on the quay with a slick designer superyacht, it’s vital to consider a yacht that matches your company image.
A luxury yacht berthed in the port is an extension of your public relations and storytelling, and your company branding is enhanced by lighting, decor and signage such as flags and banners.
We know what it takes to make our charter clients stand out among the crowd – whether you need to host meetings, throw a themed party or fulfill media interviews.
4. Book your Cannes yacht charter far in advance
There are 2 main ports in Cannes – Vieux Port (the closest port to the town and Palais des Festivals with 650 berths including 60 for superyachts) and Port Pierre Canto (located at the far end of the Croisette with just under 600 berths).
Vieux Port is the main charter hub during Cannes events – there’s car parking at the port, it’s nearby to excellent shopping, restaurants and a Tourism Office.
Berths are allocated on a´first come, first served’ basis by the port authorities so we strongly recommend booking far in advance. Competition in Cannes for prime berths next to the Palais is on par with winning a Golden Lion Award or the Palme d’Or!
How to arrange the best party for your Cannes event
Cannes welcomes over 20 big events annually and two things your clients will remember are the people and the parties.
All of our yachts for charter come fully crewed, with high standards of service so you can be rest assured that your clients will be looked after. Each yacht has a dedicated chef and they are highly adaptable and used to preparing bespoke menus. As well as preparing exceptional food for your VIP clients, we also use catering companies for large parties who are experienced with Cannes events (especially the volume of guests and standards required).
We recommend maximizing your budget where possible and we can advise on the best party entertainment from top DJ’s and bands to magicians and flair bar staff. Cannes sets the bar for parties and we can arrange transfers, extra audiovisual equipment (including lighting, microphones and VR headsets), photographers or decoration.
Beyond the Quays
The French Riviera is a popular charter destination with spectacular scenery ranging from coastal resorts to forested headlands and the red rocks of the Ésterels.
A luxury yacht charter incorporates accommodation, high-spec equipment such as integrated sound systems, leisure equipment such as water sports equipment and customized catering so it’s a great choice to use it to its full potential.
As an alternative to a static meeting or lunch in port, why not host your guests at anchor!
Most yachts allow a maximum of 12 guests for cruising; there are some which allow more guests however it requires booking far in advance and extra paperwork. The exclusions are MIPIM and Cannes Film Festival when all yachts must remain in the port once there until after the event.
7 suggestions for things to do on your Cannes yacht charter
-
1. Hit the beach – The French Riviera climate is agreeable for most of the year and
Cannes has a number of superb beaches. Stretching 7 kilometers from family-friendly Mandelieu to kite surfing favorite Palm Beach, you’re sure to find a spot on one of the private or public beaches.
-
2. Stroll the Croisette – A veritable traffic jam of vehicles and pedestrians during Cannes events, you can’t see Cannes without strolling along the Croisette past the classic palace hotels, palm trees and luxury boutiques.
-
3. Sip or savor – Cannes is known for some exceptional high-end restaurants, but it also
has very good pubs, great snack huts for ´bites-on-the-go’ and Bib Gourmand restaurants (Michelin recommended minus the Michelin prices).
-
4. Cruise to St Tropez – Especially popular during Cannes Lions, head for lunch in St
Tropez at Club 55 or Bagatelle.
-
5. Visit the Lérins Islands – Located a short distance from Cannes, the Lérins Islands are a laid back escape from busy Cannes streets. Anchor between Île St Marguerite and Île St Honorat and watch the maritime traffic, swim in the coves or head ashore for walks under the pine trees or wine tasting.
-
6. Explore Cannes – Cannes is easy to explore by foot or public transport. Head up to the top of Le Suquet (Cannes old quarter), stop by Marché Forville to buy fresh produce or cheese or take in an exhibition at Espace Miramar or Centre d’Art Malmaison.
-
7. Discover regional highlights – Spend a day or more depending on your interests seeing
some of the region’s highlights – outdoor activities (Gorges du Loup or Ésterels), art and museums (Nice), the perfume industry (Grasse) or historic buildings (Monaco).
