The sloop is a sailing boat with a single mast and a fore-and-aft rig. Gondola – Another Boat Type
The gondola is a traditional, flat-bottomed Venetian rowing boat, well suited to that conditions. The oar is not fastened to the hull, and is used in a sculling manner, also acting as the rudder.
