The company was founded in 1976 by Jean François Fountaine and three partners, near La Rochelle, in France, of course. After that they extended and moved to Aigrefeuille. They start building catamarans in 1981. Fountaine Pajot, is building at the moment, a range of sailing catamarans and some motor catamarans.
