A banana boat (or water sled), is an unpowered, inflatable recreational boat meant for towing. It was invented by Glenn Matthews in the late 1980s. Different models usually accommodate three to ten riders sitting on a larger, main tube and resting their feet on two laterally flanking tubes which stabilize the boat. The main tube is often yellow and banana-shaped. Some models have two main tubes. – cf. Wikipedia
The term “banana boat” can be mistaken for the “banana boat” campfire recipe:
On the above link, you’ll have a more elaborated recipe than the below one.
Chocolate Banana Melt/Campfire Banana Boats: Cut a lengthwise slit in every peeled banana and place each of them on a sheet of aluminum foil. Stuff in as many chocolate chips and mini marshmallows as you can fit. Wrap the foil around each banana and place them on a grill for about 5 minutes. The melt, once cooled, is best eaten with a spoon, and you also need a lot of napkins.
They have to be delicious 🙂
Sorry for the joke, folks, it’s actually Wikipedia, not me!
